Where the story began

Vincent van Gogh was born in Zundert on 30 March 1853. The Vincent van GoghHuis art centre stands on the site of his birthplace. An audio play takes visitors on a journey through his early years. Vincent was baptised in the nearby Van Gogh Church. The grave of the famous artist’s stillborn brother, who was also called Vincent, is located in the churchyard.

Vincent van Gogh House

Vincent van Gogh was born in Zundert on 30 March 1853. The site of the Vincent van Gogh House was once home to the old vicarage of the Dutch Reformed Church. Vincent lived here until he was sixteen. Discover the origins of Vincent’s personality and artistic legacy, as well as those of his fellow artists, both past and present. It is here that one of his dreams has been realised: a place for the art of the future.
