Eindhoven: Jan Baijens’ (1838–1914) paint shop was situated at Rechtestraat C265 (now no. 18). Amateur painters would visit regularly to buy paint and have their work framed. It was here that Vincent met some of his friends from Eindhoven: Antoon Hermans, Anton Kerssemakers and Willem van de Wakker, who went on to take painting lessons from him.
