Etten-Leur: Vincent was a regular visitor to the D’n IJzeren Pot farm, where Piet Kaufmann lived with his mother and younger sister. The farm was demolished in the 1960s, but it does feature in one of Vincent’s drawings of a girl with a rake. Elisabeth Kaufmann probably sat for this drawing. The sketch of a road lined with pollarded willows could well have been drawn from the farm. Piet, who was also a gardener for Reverend van Gogh, was a regular model for Vincent. He posed for the other sketch.
