Zevenbergen: Zevenbergen was once home to Jan Provily’s boys’ boarding school. Vincent attended school here after the summer of 1864 – he was 11 years old at the time – and remained there until he was admitted to the HBS in Tilburg two years later. Vincent later described in a letter how his parents took him to Zevenbergen. His words convey a profound sense of abandonment.
