Zundert: Vincent van Gogh was born in Zundert on 30 March 1853. His birthplace was replaced in 1903 by the current building, which has housed the Vincent van Gogh House since 2008. Vincent enjoyed a carefree childhood in this village in Brabant. Within his harmonious family, he shared not only a room but also a bed with his younger brother Theo. It was on the long walks the family took that he developed his love of nature. Vincent left Zundert for good in July 1869. But he often thought back on it with nostalgia.
