Exhibition: The New Vincents

| | |

60 young ‘New Vincents’ from Brabant are exhibiting in Tilburg, Zundert, Etten-Leur and Nuenen

In April and May, the ‘De Nieuwe Vincenten’ exhibitions will open in Brabant: young talent is developing, guided by Vincent van Gogh’s legacy. This spring, Kunstpodium T, De Nobelaer, the Vincent van Gogh House and Van Gogh Village Nuenen will open their doors for a special exhibition by ‘De Nieuwe Vincenten’. Here, young talent from Brabant will demonstrate what is possible when creativity, professional guidance and trust come together. The participants, aged between 10 and 14, undertook an intensive talent development programme organised by the Van Gogh sites and creative institutions in Brabant. Vincent van Gogh’s legacy serves as both the starting point and the source of inspiration for this programme.

The programme directly links the artistic development of young creators with Brabant’s Van Gogh heritage. It is more than just a series of lessons: it is a learning journey in which young people develop their own visual language, experiment with materials and learn to see the world as Vincent van Gogh once did. This parallel between heritage and talent development forms the basis of ‘De Nieuwe Vincenten’ and is a common thread running through all the programmes across Brabant.

A festive finale

The young artists’ work is exhibited at four venues across Brabant. There, they receive feedback from professional artists and talent coaches, and are given recommendations for possible next steps within the Brabant talent pyramid. The exhibition forms the festive finale of the programme: a moment when the young artists present their portfolios in a professional art setting, an important step in their artistic development and a moment of pride for themselves and those around them.

Following the exhibition, the sixty participants will complete their programme, but the collaboration will not end there. The four Van Gogh venues will continue to engage young people with the heritage story of Vincent van Gogh and support their ongoing artistic development. This will create a sustainable network in Brabant that permanently links talent development with heritage.
